New to our shop! This soap dish is one of a kind! 2 Available.
Our newest dish is made of reclaimed mill end scraps from a lumber mill local to its builder. The pieces used are 3/4 inch thick. The surface area of the soap dish is 3 inches by 3.75 inches. The angle layout of this dish allows less surface area for the soap to stick to, and allows for quicker run off of water, which allows the soap to dry faster than if it were sitting on a flat surface.
This soap dish is hand sanded and hand rubbed with a natural teak oil that penetrates and protects the wood. For a longer lasting product, follow care instructions.
While a soap dish significantly extends the life of your handcrafted soaps, did you know that it is possible to also extend the life of your handcrafted natural wood soap dishes? From experience, with constant daily use and water exposure in a shower, these dishes can last 8 months to a year or more. To extend the life of your soap dish, I encourage customers to use our soap dishes in pairs. Use one soap dish for 2-3 weeks, and then gently wipe clean with a damp cloth and set aside to allow it to fully dry out. Use the second dish for 2-3 weeks while the first dish dries out, and then alternate them this way. Allowing dishes to fully dry out every few weeks will prevent mold and mildew from developing and it will prevent wood from becoming waterlogged and rotting. This will greatly increase the life of a soap dish! Thank you for your purchase.
